Core Resources

Compilation of 12 subfiles, including Water Resources Abstracts and Pollution Abstracts, containing journal articles and technical reports. They are searchable together or separately. There are simultaneously-performed searches on very current literature, and the Internet for websites.
One of the 12 subfiles of Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management, and separately searchable. Encompasses all aspects of the impact of people and technology on the environment and the effectiveness of remedial policies and technologies. As of 1994, the database also provides coverage of energy-related issues. It covers journals, conference papers and proceedings, special reports from international agencies, non-governmental organizations, universities, associations and private corporations. Other materials selectively indexed include monographs, government studies and newsletters.
Abstract/index information for environmental policy and studies.
Unified access to ~10,000 digests of environmental impact statements since 1985, and ~1,700 full text statements since 2003. It is expected to grow. Where biodiversity is an issue, there may also be a Species Impact Statement included. Major concerns are: transportation, defense, energy, hazardous substances, land use, parts & forests, urban & social programs, and water.

Source for accessing unclassified reports from U.S. and international government agencies. Provides access to over two million critical citations from government departments such as NASA, the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Defense.
Historical and current unclassified government technical reports archived by the National Technical Information Service; includes many full-text documents from Department of Energy, NASA, and the Environmental Protection Agency.
Focuses on sustainability & the environment. Categories include healthcare, food, climate change, population & economic development. Content covers English-language newspapers, magazines & refereed journals; videos, podcasts, Web forums and images; case studies, statistics and maps. Portals provide access by topic, organization and country.

U.S. Government portal to Science & Technology data and information, including full text reports and bibliographic data. The federated search covers deep web materials and can include ScienceAccelerator.gov, WorldWideScience.org, and OSTI.gov/open for data.
Pollution Abstracts  (1981+)  
One of the 12 subfiles of Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management, and separately searchable, this database includes references to scientific research as well as government policies. Covers air, water, and land pollution, waste treatment, noise, radiation, and toxicology and health literature, conference papers and other "hard-to-find" documents.
Interdisciplinary database covering a wide variety of journals from subject area such as biology, medical sciences, earth sciences, environmental studies, pharmacy, public health and education. The database includes searchable tables, figures, graphs, charts and other illustrations from the scholarly research and technical literature.

One of 12 subfiles in the cluster that comprises the "Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management" database. Covers scientific and technical world literature about water. The abstracts describe journal articles, books, conference papers, and technical reports, from the physical and life sciences as well as engineering, legal and government publications. [Known as "Selected Water Resources Abstracts" and was published by the USGS, the United States Geological Survey, until 1994.]

Also includes market research on the health care and pharmaceuticals and telecommunications industries. Includes subnational forecasts for the United States.
